Overview

For over 215 years, Hartwick College has epitomized the liberal arts college experience. With an enrollment of about 1500, a student-to-faculty ratio of about 10:1 and an average class size under 20, a Hartwick education is a personalized experience.

However, Hartwick is unique among liberal arts colleges in its emphasis on experiential learning. Hartwick’s academics encourage students to draft senior theses, take on collaborative research projects and seek out internships.

Student life at Hartwick is rich with student organizations, Greek life, student-run media and community service opportunities. Performances by student theatre, music and dance ensembles help to enhance the creative atmosphere at Hartwick, and about three-quarters of the student body lives on campus.

To apply to Hartwick, submit your admissions application with your letters of recommendation and high school transcript. SAT and ACT scores are optional, except for home-schooled students and those applying to the Nursing program. Hartwick follows a rolling admissions policy, so it’s a good idea to apply early.

Financial aid is available in the form of institutional merit scholarships and need-based state and federal aid. Need-based awards are based on your FAFSA, while merit awards are based on your high school GPA (or SAT/ACT scores, if you choose to send them with your application).
