Amir Blachman

Amir Blachman is a seasoned aerospace executive with over 20 years of experience in strategy, investment finance, general management in high growth environments, board management and corporate and investment partnerships.

In 2016, Amir joined Axiom Space as the company's first employee, as has since played a crucial role in developing the company's path and in leading non-engineering aspects of the business alongside the company’s founders. He has raised over $500 million in equity and debt for the company, and built key strategic partnerships around the world. As of 2023, Axiom Space signed over $2.2 billion in government and commercial contracts across nine countries.

In 2018, Amir co-authored a NASA-commissioned study that helped shape the agency’s strategy on the commercialization of Earth’s orbit and its approach to the retirement of the International Space Station (ISS) while maintaining U.S. leadership in space. A year later, Amir co-authored a proposal to NASA that earned Axiom the privilege of connecting its space station modules to the ISS for a transition period until ISS retirement. Axiom Station will serve as ISS’s successor, and the new home to astronauts from around the world.

Prior to Axiom, Amir led a prolific space investment syndicate; and prior to his involvement in the aerospace industry, he enjoyed a successful career in real estate investment, which he continues to do in the background. During the dot-com boom, he held senior operations roles at BPO PeopleSupport and The Wedding Channel, contributing to their growth, acquisitions and public offering.

Amir's practical and mission-focused approach was shaped during his service in the Israeli Air Force. His dedication and outstanding performance earned him recognition, including being ranked as the Top Cadet in Basic Training and receiving a Citation for Excellence in Service.

Amir holds a BA in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, where he served as president of the Hillel Jewish Student Organization He also holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Amir is an instrument-rated private pilot.

With his extensive background and expertise, he continues to make significant contributions to the aerospace industry and investment landscape.

He resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.
