Avi Molcho

Avi has been with Forbion since 2006. Prior to that, he was a partner at Giza Venture Capital, an Israel-based diversified venture capital fund, managing over 600 million dollars. Avi established and headed the life science practice of the fund. The life science activity focused on medical technologies and drug development. Avi’s entrepreneurial work includes the founding and management of drug development as well as medical device companies. He is a co-founder and a Board member of BiolineRx (NASDAQ: BLRX; TASE: BLRX), a drug development company. Avi was the CEO and Chairman of Neovasc, an interventional cardiology company, leading it through a turn around to an acquisition. He is a co-founder and Executive Chairman of Biolojic Design, a rational therapeutic antibody design company. Avi is a physician who trained as a resident in psychiatry and a postdoctoral fellow in psychopharmacology, at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York. He served as the chief of the clinical unit of the Division of Neuroscience, New York State Psychiatric Institute, Columbia Presbyterian Medical center. Following that, he served as a Deputy Director General of The Abarbanel Mental Health Center, Tel Aviv University Medical School and was the Chief Editor of the Israel National Boards of Psychiatry. Avi did his military service as the Chief Medical Officer of the Naval Commando (Navy Seals) of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Avi holds MD and MBA degrees from the University of Tel Aviv, Israel.
