Bruce Flatt

Bruce Flatt is the Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Asset Management. He joined the firm in 1990, which at the time was named Brascan, and spearheaded the acquisition of office properties from Olympia & York Developments, resulting in significant growth for the firm. In 2000, he became Chief Executive of Brookfield Properties, responsible for the Firm’s real estate investments globally, and in 2002 was named Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Asset Management.

Since that time, Brookfield has become a leading global asset manager, with 700 investment professionals in 100 offices across 30 countries, with four permanent capital listed entities and three flagship private funds for institutional investors.

Flatt has been an active member of over 20 public company boards over the past two decades. Canadian Business ranked him #3 in ‘Canada’s Most Powerful Business People’ listing, and #57 in Harvard Business Review’s ‘Best Performing CEOs in the World’ list.
