Carsten Reinhardt

Carsten Reinhardt is the Managing Director, Chief Medical Officer at immatics biotechnologies GmbH.

Reinhardt joined immatics from Micromet, Inc., in October 2009, where he was Chief Medical Officer.

Before becoming a member of Micromet's managment board in 2005, Reinhardt worked as International Medical Leader for Herceptin® at Hoffmann-La Roche (Basel, Switzerland) and as Head of Clinical Development at Fresenius Biotech (Munich, Germany).

Reinhardt brings to immatics extensive experience in both early and late-stage clinical development. Reinhardt was instrumental in the set-up and oversight of pivotal trials that led to the approval of various anti-cancer drugs including the initial MAA of Removab® in solid tumors with peritoneal disease as well as various sBLA/MAA for Herceptin® in additional indications (adjuvant breast cancer, gastric cancer). A pivotal trial testing blinatumomab in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is ongoing.

Prior to joining industry, Reinhardt held medical positions and worked at various academic institutions (University of Tuebingen, Max Planck Institute, Munich) to complete his curriculum in Neurology.

Between 1991 and 1995, Reinhardt completed his Ph.D. thesis in Cellular Immunology at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Institute of Immunology) in Munich, Germany and received a Medical Degree in 1994.

Reinhardt is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Association for Cancer Immunotherapy as well as of the European Society of Medical Oncology, and is Visiting Professor for Pharmaceutical Medicine at the University of Basel.
