Dan Henry is an innovator in the field of financial technology. He is a long-time champion for the underbanked and a passionate pioneer in the payments space. With over two decades as an entrepreneur in the industry, he is a successful payments professional who has spearheaded, built and operated two payments companies. Each one became publicly traded, and exceeded $1 billion USD in value.
Dan joined NetSpend in January 2008 as CEO. Under his leadership, NetSpend’s annual revenues grew from $129 million in 2007 to $351 million in 2012 and cardholder accounts grew from 700,000 in 2007 to more than 2.35 million to date. Dan led the company through its initial public offering in 2010 and in July 2013 completed an all cash sale of the company to TSYS corporation for $1.4 billion USD. Prior to his position at NetSpend, Dan was co-founder of Euronet Worldwide, a global leader in processing secure electronic financial transactions. He served as Euronet’s president and COO until the end of 2006, and maintained a position on its Board until 2008. In his role he established the company's first European office in Budapest, Hungary, and led the development of its European business.
