Dr David Grant is a Non-Executive Director of Renishaw plc., Senior Independent Director of IQE plc., and is Chairman of STEMNET. He was Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University from 2001 to 2012. Previously he held leadership positions in a number of international businesses including Dowty Group plc and GEC plc.
He has been a Vice-President of the IET, and was a Vice-President of the Royal Academy of Engineering from 2007 to 2012. He has served as a Council Member of EPSRC, and in 2012 was appointed a Non-Executive Director of Dstl. In 1997 he was made a CBE for his contribution to the UK's Foresight Programme. He has a PhD in Engineering Science from the University of Durham.
