David Leuschen

David Leuschen serves as the Co-Founder and Senior Managing Director of Riverstone Holdings. Before Riverstone, Leuschen was a Partner and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs and the founder and head of the Goldman Sachs Global Energy and Power Group. Leuschen was named one of the Top 50 Dealmakers by Forbes in 2013.

Leuschen also owns Switchback Ranch, a ranching business that has a top commercial beef business and a dude ranching company. Leuschen spends as much time as possible on the ranch, which is nestled between the North Rocky Mountains of Wyoming and Montana.

Leuschen is heavily involved in philanthropic endeavors. He founded the David M. Leuschen Charitable Foundation in 1998, which supports local ranching communities. Leuschen is also an active alumnus of his alma mater, Dartmouth College. He serves as a member of the executive committee and board of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation.

Outside of business, Leuschen is passionate about skiing and sailing. Skiing has been a part of nearly all of his life. As a child, David learned how to ski; this later turned into one of the reasons he wanted to attend Dartmouth. David has continued with this passion as the co-owner of The Red Lodge International Summer Ski Race Camp, which provides skiing instruction ranging from high school to national team level skiers.

In more recent years, Leuschen has grown a love for sailing and sailboat racing. David has won races at Block Island Race Week, Key West Race Week, the 2017 Rolex Maxi Worlds, and the Wally Championship, among many others. Much like skiing shaped him, David believes in the importance of sailing for children, as it builds character and community. David is looking to take a more active role in sailing community programs in the future.
