Deborah Glasser

Ms. Glasser is currently the Head of Marketing for Biogen’s Biosimilar business unit based in Zug, Switzerland. In this role, she oversees the launch and execution for all marketing activities related to the firm’s considerable commitment to the biosimilar space. Prior to this role, Ms. Glasser led in-line marketing teams at Biogen’s Boston based US affiliate. Most notably, she led a team that oversaw the launch of Tecfidera, an oral MS product that earned $1.3B in US sales in its first four full quarters on the market. These results made Tecfidera one of the top pharmaceutical launches of all time and were described by one Wall Street analyst as the “Holy Mother of All Launches”. Prior to her work with Tecfidera, Deb led Consumer Marketing for AVONEX where she helped turn-around the performance of the firm’s flagship MS product. Before joining Biogen Idec, Ms. Glasser held roles of increasing responsibilities in sales, market research and brand marketing with Abbott Labs (now AbbVie). Ms. Glasser started her career in New York working as an investment banker. She holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA with honors from Tufts University. Outside of work, Ms. Glasser collects Tribal Art from African and Oceania and sits on two leadership committees at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
