Deborah Gordon joined General Motors in 1977 as a co-op student with Detroit Diesel Allison (now Allison Transmission). Over the course of her career, Ms. Gordon has held a variety of assignments in multiple functions, including product engineering, competitive assessment, and product line leadership. Prior to her current role, she served as Executive Director, Business Planning and Program Management since 2009. She was appointed as Executive Director, Regulatory Issues and Hybrid Programs in August 2014. She was promoted to Vice President in March 2016.

Ms. Gordon holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University). She also completed the Executive Development Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. During her career, Ms. Gordon has been recognized with a Women & Hi-Tech Leading Light Award for Distinguished Use of Technology by an Individual for the Government or Service Industry.
