Dominic Halfpenny

Dominic is a Partner in Delta Partners’ investment business based out of the firm’s headquarters in Dubai, from where he leads sourcing of new investment opportunities and transaction execution. His professional career spans 15 years of leading and executing growth capital and significant buyout transactions and opportunities covering multiple geographies and industries across Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and the Middle East, including 10 years of working on opportunities in challenging emerging markets environments. In particular, his expertise includes structuring transactions to balance the risk reward of incoming investors with the expectations of founders, management and other existing shareholders.

Prior to joining Delta Partners, Dominic was with TPG Capital for seven years based out of their London office, from where he worked across Europe as well as on various opportunities in Russia, Poland, Turkey, Brazil, the UAE and Nigeria, spanning the telecoms, media, retail, consumer, automotive and financial services sectors. Dominic played a key role on several of TPG’s transactions including one of TPG’s telecoms investments. Prior to joining TPG, Dominic was with Merrill Lynch for four years, during which time he focused on leveraged finance and private equity advisory covering the full spectrum of products for private equity clients, including syndicated debt, M&A advisory, equity issuance and fund raising.

Dominic studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Magdalen College, University of Oxford.

Dominic has served on multiple private company boards for TPG and others, including Spirit Group, a US$ 4 billion managed pub business, Helios Towers, the leading Nigerian telecom towers player, and the holding company for TPG’s investment in mobilcom AG and freenet AG, leading German MVNO and broadband players.
