Dong Guel (DG) Kwak

Mr. Dong Guel Kwak is one of the founding members of STIC and currently the Chief Investment Officer for STIC. Mr. Kwak dedicates most of his time to the investment activities of STIC’s Private Equity Division. As the head of the Investment Team for Fund I and Fund II, his primary role is to lead the investment activities of the Investment Team. Mr. Kwak also shares the role of key representative for STIC along with Mr. Choi, and Mr. Kwak is a member of STIC’s Investment Committee. Mr. Kwak has extensive experience in both public and private equity investments as well as in-depth industry knowledge of the technology, shipbuilding and machinery sectors, all of which have been key to STIC’s success in sourcing and divesting investments and its value-add activities. Prior to joining STIC, he was a Fund Manager at Dongsuh Securities where he obtained over 10 years of experience in public equity investments. From 2006 until 2011, Mr. Kwak also served as the Chairman of the Operations Committee for the Korea Core Industrial Technology Investment Association (KITIA), an association established by the Korean government in 2001 to promote the components and materials industry in Korea.
