Donna J. McCarthy

Donna McCarthy rose to the position of Senior Vice President, Operations and President, West Division of Fresenius Medical Care after beginning her career in nursing and administrative positions with a predecessor company, National Medical Care.

Over the course of her career here beginning in 1978, she took on the range of roles required to assure the delivery of excellent quality patient care, compliance and financial management with our company. These roles included Clinic Manager, Administrator, Area Regional Manager, Quality Manager, Vice President Quality, Vice President of Operations and Business Unit President/Northeast.

Donna currently manages a staff of more than 10,000 professionals and oversees more than 480 chronic, home and acute dialysis facilities, where 40,000 patients are cared for in twenty states.

A registered nurse, Donna earned her nursing credentials from Catherine Laboure Nursing in Boston. Her undergraduate degree in education is from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and she holds a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Northeastern University.
