Etienne Castiaux

Etienne was Chief of Technology & Innovation for the Enterprise Product Organization at FIS, Fortune 500’s #1 financial technology company from 2009 until 2013. He was CTO and Vice President of Clear2Pay before it was acquired by FIS in 2014.

Etienne was the CTO of FICS and the Head of Research and Technology at S1 Corporation (the very first Internet Banking solution). Etienne was the brain behind several highly scalable real-time transaction processing platforms in internet Banking and Payment Hubs, implemented at thousands of banks worldwide and breaking several processing volume records, while leveraging innovative technologies.

Etienne has also worked as a strategic consultant for Arthur D Little and advisor for several Venture Capital funds, advising banks and telecom companies on e-finance and m-pay strategies. He is also a member of the boards of younger startups active in cyber-security or FinTech in general.

Etienne holds a MSc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Liege and the Ecole Polytechnique of Mons in Belgium, as well as an executive MBA from INSEAD Fontainebleau (France). He is fluent in four languages and has expatriate experience living in the U.S.
