From May 1997 until December 1997, Mr. Rittenberg served as acting Chairman of the Board. From October 1996 until May 1997, Mr. Rittenberg served as our President. Mr. Rittenberg’s extensive experience in the decorated party goods industry, his 24-year tenure, his prior experience as our Chief Executive Officer and the requirements of the Stockholders Agreement led to the conclusion that he should serve as a director of our Company.
