Goran Visnjic

Goran Visnjic is Croatian-American actor, born on September 09, 1972 in Sibenik, Croatia. His mother was a sales clerk and his father was a bus driver. Ever since he was a kid, Goran Visnjic dreamt of becoming a famous actor. After his service for the Croatian army came to an end, this inspiring actor immediately headed to Zagreb where he enrolled at the Academy of Dramatic Arts. At the age of 21, in his second year of studies, he managed to become the youngest Croatian actor to play Hamlet. During his college days, Goran Visnjic had a number of theatre performances.

However his first big screen role came in 1988, playing a young Ustasha in the movie Maternal Half brothers. In 1997, Goran Visnjic got his first international opportunity, and was casted by director Michaela Winterbotton in his film “Welcome to Sarajevo”. After that the Croatian actor was casted for another American movie, playing alongside Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. Thanks to his handsome appearance, Goran Visnjic was voted “Sexiest Import” and was listed among the “50 Most Handsome Men in the World” by People Magazine. In 1999, Goran Visnjic got the opportunity that changed his entire professional career, when he was chosen to play Dr Luka Kovac in “ER”.

This role brought Visnjic huge success and opened him the doors to Hollywood. Apart from being recognized by his peers and the fans, Goran Visnjic was nominated twice for the prestigious “Actors Guild Awards”. Another project that brought Visnjic even more fans was his appearance in Madonna’s video for “The Power of Goodbye”. This multi talented actor also won the lead role for the movie Elektra, co-starring Jennifer Garner. Goran Visnjic has been happily married to his wife Eva Visnjic, and the couple has two sons. In his free time, he tries dedicating time to some of his hobbies, including fencing, diving, swimming and driving.
