Grace Hopper is a United States Navy Rear Admiral and American computer scientist. She has worked as a senior mathematician at Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation in 1949 to 1954. She has also worked as an associate professor at Vassar College for Mathematics for twelve years. Grace helped develop both the UNIVAC I computer and COBOL.

Grace received her Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and Physics at Vassar College and attained her Ph.D. in Mathematics at Yale University.
