Gyri Reiersen

Gyri is a climate activist, co-founder, and CPO of the ClimateTech startup Tanso. She has a background as an AI engineer and scientist from TUM, ETH & MIT, and has been active in the climate tech space for over a decade. In 2021, she founded the software company Tanso, on a mission to bring climate intelligence to the European industrial market, and is now one of the most funded European carbon management startups.

In 2022, she was awarded as one of “Top 20 Women in AI in Germany” by Rework for her research on machine learning to tackle the intransparency of carbon offsets in forests from satellite imagery. As a long-time active member of the Global Shapers, a community of young leaders by the World Economic Forum, she has launched multiple initiatives to empower people to tackle climate change, increase diversity in tech, and break the stigma around mental health.
