Hani is a recognized expert on hybrid search algorithms, and specializes not only in their research and design in commercial contexts, but also in managing the development of the software applications that harness the algorithms to generate outstanding customer value. He is the inventor of Probe Backtrack Search, and is a key original contributor to ECLiPSe, a hybrid algorithm development and runtime environment currently used by thousands of academic and corporate customers. At Cisco, Hani led the Portfolio Architecture Team, reporting to the SVP of the Network Management Technology Group (“NMTG”), a member of the NMTG Enterprise Sector executive team, and of the Network Management Research Council. As a founding member of Parc Technologies’ executive team, Hani was responsible for the research and agile development of Parc’s commercial optimization products.
Hani is a regular contributor at both industry and international conferences with a focus on search algorithm hybridization. He is the author of fifteen publications, and has been granted three US patents, with others pending. He has a bachelor degree in Information Systems Engineering from Surrey University (UK), as well as an MSc in Foundations of Advanced IT and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Imperial College London (UK).
