James Carlyle

I am now focused on defining and building Obscuro, a confidential smart contract L2 network for Ethereum. Previously, as the Chief Engineer of R3 I also helped design Corda, a strong-identity distributed ledger platform for financial services, and sat on R3's executive and risk committees. I was also the first Director of the Corda Network Foundation.

Previously, I was Chief Engineer within Corporate Banking at Barclays, where I designed and delivered core banking systems. Earlier I worked in a Japanese bulldozer factory for 4 years and then co-founded 2 startups, and hold various patents. I was a Chartered Electrical Engineer and hold a degree in Engineering Science from University College, Durham, UK.
