James Jenness, also known as Jim, served as the Chief Executive Officer of Kellogg Co. from February 7, 2005 to December 31, 2006.

Jenness served as the Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Merchandising Systems LLC from April 1997 to 2004. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of Leo Burnett Company from July 1996 to April 1997, where he served account management positions of increasing responsibility over the course of a 22-year career with the global advertising agency.

Jenness had 30-year business career includes domestic and international experience covering a wide range of clients in highly competitive industries such as food, quick-service restaurants, financial services, automotive, and telecommunications.

He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of DePaul.Jenness has been the Chairman of the Board of Kellogg Co. since February 7, 2005. He served as Global Vice Chairman North America and Latin America from February 1993 to July 1996. He served as Vice Chairman of the Leo Burnett Company from July 1996 to April 1997.

Jenness has been a Director of Kimberly-Clark Corporation since February 1, 2007 and serves as its Lead Director. He has been a Director of Kellogg Company since July 2000. He serves as Director of Schwarz Company, the Schwarz Paper Company, and the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. He serves as Senior Director of Children's Memorial Hospital.

He serves as Co-Trustee of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation Trust. Jenness served as a Director of International Multifoods Corp. since 2001. He serves as a Director of Grocery Manufacturers Association. He is a Member of the Economic Club of Chicago. In 2006, he was awarded a doctor of humane letters degree.

Jenness has also been featured as a guest lecturer in the College of Commerce's undergraduate and graduate classes. In 1995, he received the College of Commerce's Alumni Award of Merit.

He holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing and a Masters in Business Administration from the DePaul University.
