Bio
Jared Carmel is a pioneer in developing the secondary market for venture-backed technology companies. In 2014, he founded Manhattan Venture Partners (MVP), which has become an industry leader in the secondary market. With $1B in AUM and top decile performance, MVP provides full-service liquidity solutions to venture-backed companies and shareholders.
The MVP track record:
As a GP of MVP’s All-Star Funds, Jared leverages decades of experience to source and invest in high-growth private companies like Coinbase, Draftkings, Palantir, Lime, RapidSOS, and Hawkeye360.
Previously, Jared co-founded fintech startup citizen.vc, where Jared drove product strategy and investment execution. Before that, Jared served as Director of Secondary Markets for G Squared, where he refocused the firm’s priorities to invest in consumer internet, SaaS, and Fintech from their legacy clean technology. Jared delivered access and exposure to some of the world’s most exciting growth-stage technology companies.
Further, Jared pioneered the development of Gentry's Secondary Market investment business, structuring the $36 million Gentry Technology Fund I LLC in 2013 (before it was restructured into an LP and renamed G Squared I LP), where he selected and advised on most of each of the series investments. He has deep expertise across VC, PE, SPACs, M&A and IPOs.
Jared is frequently featured as a thought leader for major news organizations such as CNBC, Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Information, and CNN. He graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Informatics.
When not managing MVP or analyzing potential investments for the All-Star Fund, Jared can be found spending time with his family, including coaching his three children in Lacrosse, Football, and Soccer—or taking his family fishing and attending Jets games.
