Dr. Laterra is a leading researcher and clinician focused on CNS Tumor Biology and the Blood-Brain Barrier. Dr. Laterra has studied and published extensively about glioma cell growth regulation, tumor-associated angiogenesis and cytoprotection.
Dr. Laterra is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Neurological Association, and the American Association for Cancer Research and the Society for Neuro-Oncology. In addition, he serves on the Scientific Advisory Council of the American Brain Tumor Association and a member of the Brain Disorders and Clinical Neurosciences-4 Study Section of the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Laterra received his bachelor’s degree from Washington Univ., and MD., Ph.D from Case Western Reserve Univ. He interned at the University of Michigan prior to joining the faculty at JHU. He has participated in several clinical trials and has several publications and patents to his credit.
