Jon Baird

Jon Baird serves as Managing Director, bringing more than 15 years of venture lending and commercial finance experience to his role at TriplePoint Capital.

Mr. Baird most recently served as Vice President of Technology Lending at GE Commercial Finance, where he was responsible for originating, structuring, and negotiating debt transactions with a range of products aimed at companies within the technology and energy sectors.

Prior to GE, Mr. Baird embarked on his venture leasing and lending career when he joined Meier Mitchell & Company, the predecessor of GATX Ventures as Vice President, Originations. Mr. Baird focused on originating debt financings for privately held technology and life science companies, primarily in the Western United States. During his eight year tenure, he built a successful debt portfolio in excess of $250 million and was consistently the top producer for GATX Ventures nationwide.

Prior to entering the venture finance arena, Mr. Baird worked at Sanwa Bank California, where he developed, structured and underwrote middle market transactions with an emphasis on the information technology, financial institution, and apparel industries.

Mr. Baird holds a B.S. degree from the University of Arizona.
