Kathleen Fanning

Kathleen Fanning is the Vice President, Business Development & Alliance Management at VentiRx Pharmaceuticals.

As Vice President, Business Development and Alliance Management, Katie leads the partnering activities, M&A discussions and alliance management for VentiRx Pharmaceuticals. Katie joined VentiRx in January 2012 as Director of Business and Strategic Development and played an instrumental role in the company's strategic collaboration with Celgene Corporation. Katie brings over 25 years of commercial experience in oncology from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Prior to VentiRx, Katie co-founded Fiontar Management LLC, a private consulting business.

She also served in two roles at Cell Therapeutics, Inc., a Seattle-based biotechnology company; most recently as Vice President of Acquisitions, where she was instrumental in the divesture of Trisenox® and previously as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, with responsibilities that included building and managing the company's first global sales and marketing organization.

Prior to Cell Therapeutics, Katie served as Sr. Director of Sales and Marketing at CellPro, Inc. (acquired by Baxter Healthcare), where she led the company's first product launch of a medical device into the stem cell transplantation market.

Katie spent thirteen years at Zeneca Pharmaceuticals (now AstraZeneca), with increasing roles of responsibility including Director of Marketing for Oncology Products, where she led the U.S. launch of two major oncology products.

Katie received her B.A. in Zoology from Miami University in Ohio.
