Kerry Van Voris

Kerry joined Madrona in 2015. As the Director of Talent, she works with Madrona’s portfolio companies to recruit talent and strategically plan and manage resources to ensure growth and success.

For over a decade, Kerry has been focused on attracting, placing and growing talent across the technology and financial industries. Prior to Madrona, Kerry was a senior leader at Amazon, where she led executive recruiting for Amazon Web Services. Prior to Amazon, Kerry built a network in the financial services space, running senior and general management hiring at Bridgewater Associates before moving into a broader role as Head of Talent Management for the firm’s largest department. Van Voris has a strong track record collaborating with executives and entrepreneurs to assess their talent needs, finding and placing the right talent. Her Northwest roots stretch back over a decade to Microsoft, originally as a senior technical recruiter for the Server & Tools business and then as an HR M&A manager, leading people due-diligence on multiple deals and playing a key role in acquiring and integrating talent through acquisitions. Kerry has a marketing and business development background, having worked for small businesses in Seattle and, before moving to the Pacific Northwest, leading the outdoor sports marketing efforts at Berkeley based energy bar maker, Clif Bar.

Kerry serves on the Board of Directors for South Bronx United, benefiting youth of the South Bronx by using soccer as a tool for social change. She is a former board member of Changing Lives Nepal and also Ashoka’s Youth Venture Seattle, supporting young people, as entrepreneurs, to make a difference. Passionate about the outdoor access of the Pacific Northwest, Kerry loves to ski, swim in Seattle’s open-water, and go on foot to her destination, whenever possible. She is a guest-lecturer on recruiting and interviewing strategies at the University of Washington. Kerry graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, with a Bachelor’s degree in History.
