Linda Schaffer

Linda Schaffer joined Foresite Capital in 2014. Previously, Linda was a Senior Vice President at Merck & Company, where she initially joined as a research cardiovascular pharmacologist

Linda moved to the Project Management organization coincident with the transition of her research projects advancing into the clinic. Within Project Management, Linda was responsible for cardiovascular, vaccine, infectious disease, neuroscience and respiratory programs in all phases of development. More recently, Linda was the Research & Development Project Leader for the 2009 merger between Merck and Schering Plough, Head of Project Leadership & Management at Merck Research Laboratories Training Organization, and Project Lead for Merck's Company-wide restructuring during late 2013.

Linda obtained her V.M.D. from University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine and completed a post-doc in pharmacology. She received her B.S. from Pennsylvania State University, where she was the 1978 Scholar Athlete and member of the U.S. Women's Lacrosse Team.
