M. Kemal Çelik

Dr. Çelik directs the design, development, and implementation of distribution network operations and planning applications, with emphasis on integrating smart grid technologies. He has over 25 years of professional experience working on a wide range of projects encompassing both traditional electric distribution and transmission grid operations and planning as well as analytical network applications for deregulated electricity markets.

His expertise also includes utility control center applications, power quality analysis applications, and competitive electricity industry operations. Prior to his current assignment, he was instrumental in successfully deploying Nexant's key enterprise software applications—TrakSmart®, installed at major U.S. utilities—and i-Hedge™, deployed to both ERCOT and California ISO.

Dr. Çelik holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech University. In addition, he is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and has co-authored more than 20 technical papers.
