Maria Dela Paz

Maria joins the American Honors team after a variety of experiences both in the U.S. and abroad. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in history, Maria spent two years as an international volunteer in the Federated States of Micronesia through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. She served as a high school teacher, academic advisor, campus minister, and director of the drama club at a small, Western-accredited boarding school located on a tropical island. It was through this experience that Maria discovered her passion for the field of education, supporting and mentoring students, and providing access to higher education.

Prior to joining American Honors, Maria has worked as Campus Minister on two college campuses in western New York, helping college students navigate the challenges of higher education through a faith-based organization.

Maria Dela Paz graduated summa cum laude from Saint Peter’s University, a small Jesuit school in New Jersey. During her college career, she studied abroad for six months in Malta, sang in the college chorale, and became more in touch with her Filipino roots as a student leader of the Asian American Student Union.
