Nicholas Williams is a Manager at the AfDB responsible for all public loans and grants to Governments and Regional Economic Communities for ICT projects in Africa. He is also responsible for the Bank’s strategy on investments to the ICT private sector. Areas of investment include broadband backbone infrastructure, Government ICT, technology parks and data centres, as well as services and applications. Prior to joining the AfDB in 2013 he worked on the liberalisation of two telecoms markets in Asia. He has worked for Ericsson in Africa, for Vodafone in global group functions and was responsible for UK mobile telecoms policy when the Government auctioned 3G mobile licences in 2000.
