Bio
A tenacious advocate for educational equity and teacher empowerment through digital media, Nina Zolt founded In2Books in 1997. In 2007, she merged In2Books with the ePals Classroom Exchange, co-founding the current ePals.
She created In2Books, ePals' flagship common core eMentoring program in 1998 and in 2012 it received the CODIE Award for Best Reading/English Instructional Solution.
Zolt served as a member of the Washington D.C. Advisory Board of Directors for Teach for America (2000-2011) and the Board of Trustees of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching (2004-2010).
She also served as an Advisory Board Member for the International Reading Association (2008-2010). She is a co-author of Getting Children In2Books: Engagement in Authentic Reading, Writing and Thinking (Phi Delta Kappan, 2007).
She has an A.B. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law. She received an honorary doctorate from National-Louis University in 2004 and from Bryant College in 2012. In 2007, Boston University School of Law awarded Zolt its Silver Shingle Award for distinguished service to the community.
