Ole Melberg

Ole Melberg is the founder of Energy Ventures and Managing Partner of Energy Ventures a.s, Energy Ventures II a.s and Energy Ventures III a.s.

Ole was the General Manager of Smedvig Drilling from 1976, Managing Director of Smedvig Marine Contracting from 1984 to 1990 and Chief Executive Officer of Smedvig ASA in the period 1990-1998 and employed in the company from 1972.

During this period Smedvig was built up from a one-rig entity to a highly reputable international marine contracting company. He was responsible for the listing of Smedvig on the Oslo Stock Exchange following a private placement in 1990. This was followed by a public issue and listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 1995.

Ole holds a business degree (Siviløkonom) from the Norwegian School of Business Administration (NHH, 1970).
