Colonel Peter Petronzio retired from active military service as a Joint Specialty Officer in 2011. His last assignment was as the commander of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.He was one of the original members of the Marine Corps Special Operations Command.
Petronzio has served in and commanded operational units from platoon- to MEU-size. His overseas assignments included Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti, and a number of other deployments to contingencies around the world.
A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Petronzio holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Norwich University and a master of arts degree in educational leadership and administration from Troy State University.
