Pier Silvio Berlusconi

Born in Milan in 1969, Pier Silvio Berlusconi is the Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chairman of MFE - MEDIAFOREUROPE, a Group operating in the media and communication sector. He is also the Chairman of Medusa Film S.p.A. and a board member of Arnoldo Mondadori Editore S.p.A., Fininvest S.p.A., and Publitalia S.p.A. Since June 2023, he has also served as the Chairman of MFE Advertising S.p.A.

Pier Silvio Berlusconi began his professional career in 1992 within the key areas of Mediaset (now MFE - MEDIAFOREUROPE), including Publitalia and the Italia1 television network. Appointed Head of Scheduling and Programme Coordination for Mediaset networks in 1996, he assumed the role of Deputy General Director of Content for RTI – a Mediaset company operating in the television sector – three years later. In April 2000, he became Deputy Chairman of Mediaset, as well as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RTI, before taking on the roles of Chief Executive Officer and member of the Executive Committee of the Mediaset Group from May 2015. Throughout his professional experience, Pier Silvio Berlusconi has excelled in executing strategic operations for the Mediaset Group. Among these stands the agreement with the Vivendi Group, which was signed on 8 April 8 2017 and aimed at developing international industrial projects, along with an equal exchange of participations of 3.5% between the parent companies. The collaboration between Mediaset and Vivendi continued with a new agreement signed in 2021. Another strategic operation is the acquisition of shares in ProsiebenSat.1 for a stake of 9.9% of voting rights, completed on 29 May 2019. ProsiebenSat.1, one of the major television Groups in Europe, is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and holds a leading position in the sector in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Mediaset is its largest shareholder and, through subsequent acquisitions, has reached a participation stake of 28.87%.

25 November 2021 marks the birth of MFE - MEDIAFOREUROPE, a new holding company operating in the media and communication sector, born to create a new pan-European and independent entity operating in key markets, strong in content and technology, aimed at improving Europe’s competitive position in the global market. MFE - MEDIAFOREUROPE currently brings together television activities conducted in Italy, Spain (via the subsidiary Mediaset España), and the stake in the TV network ProsiebenSat.1 in Germany. Another operation carried out under the guidance of Pier Silvio Berlusconi is the cross-border merger by incorporation of Mediaset España into MFE - MEDIAFOREUROPE, approved on 15 March 2023 by the respective Shareholders’ Meetings. Starting from the summer of 2023, MFE - MEDIAFOREUROPE owns 100% of the Italian and Spanish television activities of the Group, along with 28.87% of the German TV network ProSiebenSat.1.
