Rainer Sternfeld

Founder and CEO at Marinexplore.

Prior to Marinexplore, Rainer led ABB to win and establish the world’s first nation-wide fast-charging infrastructure for electric cars, which is currently being built in Estonia. He led business development at ABB Baltic States and supervised IT, ERP and OPEX units, initiating 20+ projects in a 1300 employee organization, including OneCampus, a new HQ and innovation campus for ABB factories & business units in Estonia.

Rainer is the co-author of the Statue of Liberty of Estonia, and was the member of supervisory board in the first year of GrabCAD. He got his epiphany for Marinexplore while working on a profiling buoy at Flydog Design, an engineering design company he co-founded together with Kalle, now also a co-founder at Marinexplore. Rainer holds a Master’s Degree in Mechatronics (cum laude) and BS in Product Development in Industrial Engineering from Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia.
