Richard Sharp

Rick leads the Engineering team responsible for development of RedShift’s line of external cavity quantum cascade lasers. Prior to RedShift, Rick was VP of Engineering and Operations at EM4 which designs, develops, and manufacturers lasers and other optoelectronic packages for Defense, Aerospace, Telecom, and Industrial markets. Previous experience also includes engineering management roles on projects for fiber optics, lasers and nonlinear optics, and MEMS based gyroscopes. Prior to that Rick served as Principal Scientist for Raytheon Electro-Optics components serving numerous technical and project leadership roles in the development of advanced fiber optic components, laser and nonlinear optics. Rick holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Harvard University and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Florida.
