Silvio Micali is the founder of Algorand . Silvio Micali is a Turing award-winning cryptographer, and is a professor of computer science in MIT’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is also part of MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Micali is one of the co-inventors of zero-knowledge proofs, and is best known for some of his fundamental early work on public-key cryptosystems, pseudorandom functions, digital signatures, Byzantine agreement and secure multiparty computation. In 1993, Micali won the Gödel Prize. He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences, The National Academy of Engineering, The American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Accademia dei Lincei.
