Stefan Mittnik

Stefan is Professor of Financial Econometrics and Director of the Center for Quantitative Risk Analysis at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich as well as Fellow at the Center for Financial Studies (CFS) in Frankfurt.After obtaining his PhD in the U.S., he taught in New York and Kiel before moving to Munich in 2003, and has since held a number of visiting positions in the U.S. He served on the Research Advisory Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank, the Review Board of the German Research Foundation and was research director at the CFS and the Ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich. For more than 25 years, he has conducted research on analyzing, modeling and forecasting financial risk.
