Susumu Tanaka

Tanaka-san has 30 years of experience as a successful venture capitalist, entrepreneur and international business executive. Throughout his accomplished career, Tanaka-san has established close relationships with high-level contacts throughout the Japanese technology industry.

Before joining Worldview, Tanaka-san held several top positions during his ten years at JAFCO. He served as General Manager of the Mergers and Acquisitions group where he successfully sold or restructured 17 of JAFCO’s portfolio companies. As General Manager of the International Operations Department, he was responsible for JAFCO’s international investments, particularly U.S. information technology companies.

Prior to JAFCO, Tanaka-san was President of King Kogyo, a publicly-traded Japanese technology company. He also worked in the United States and London as General Manager for Tokai Bank, managing the banking needs of Japanese technology companies operating overseas.

At Worldview, Tanaka-san brings his considerable expertise and connections to help U.S. portfolio companies assess opportunities, build alliances and achieve success in Japan . He leads a team of experienced business development professionals in Worldview’s Tokyo office.

Tanaka-san holds a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Hitotsubashi University.
