Thomas Unterman

Thomas E. Unterman founded Rustic Canyon in 1999 and has raised venture funds in excess of $800 million. Among his notable investments are Netscape, LoopNet, Glass Lewis and Fulcrum Bioenergy.

Prior to forming Rustic Canyon Partners, Tom had been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Times Mirror Company From 1992 through 1999. At Times Mirror, he led the acquisition and divestiture activity and oversaw the investment program.

Prior to joining Times Mirror, Tom was a partner of the law firm of Morrison & Foerster LLP 1986 to 1992, which he joined after serving as a partner of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP from 1969 to 1986 .

Tom serves actively on the boards of the California Community Foundation, CalArts, Heal the Bay, and MOCA.

Tom earned a BA from Princeton University and a JD from the University of Chicago.
